Grinched?

So, way back on Nov. 12 we grognard Secret Santas were given our targets.  My guy had his gifts in hand on the 14th (ordered through his FLGS), so it was down to waiting for my Grognard Santa.

And waiting.

And waiting.

The admin asked for the names of those of us still waiting on the 27th of December.  I put my name in, and hear from Santa Grogs that my gift was on its way.  Two weeks later...no gift.  Complain to the admin.  I should hear something shortly.  A week later, I don't hear anything, and I'm declared Grinched on January 24.  I'm assigned a Rescue Santa to get some games out of it.

And I got some cool ones, just two days later: Waterloo 20 and Napoleonic 20 Expansion Kit, thus advancing my Napoleonic 20 collection that much closer to completion.  And it meant that my Secret Santas, between them, gave me one game and four expansions: Perfect!

And then...two days later, I get a package.  It's a cardboard box with two games inside--no packaging material, so they just rattled around.  Neither were games I had on my wishlist; one is a game I sold a few months ago.  It was The Kaiser's Pirates and Panzer General: Allied Assault.  I've never turned down games in the mail, but why do I have these games?  The return address is from BGG Secret Santa, and was shipped from Fort Wayne, IN.  The admin looks around and discovers that my original Santa Grogs was from Fort Wayne--and, after his posting privileges were blocked, decided to send me some games, that I don't want, presumably so that...I would get the admin to let him back in?

Who knows if that happened.

Original Santa Grogs, if you come across this, thanks for the games, even if they're not games I would have picked out for myself.  I wish you can come through a lot earlier, and with games on my wishlist instead of wherever these games came from.  I do hope you enjoy the games you got from your Santa, and that if you do Grognard Secret Santa next year--if you're allowed to do Grognard Secret Santa next year--it goes a lot better.

On my end: I got three Santas!  How about that...

Wow.

Yeah, I think I'm glad Anna and I decided not to do Secret Santa this past year. :)

PS: By odd coincidence, I just ordered Waterloo 20! (Along with several other VPG products, including Ancient Battles Deluxe!)
