GROUP-BUILDING STRATEGIES
I know there are gamers in Springfield. A big ol' lot of euros came in this week at the local store of choice, and by jiminy a lot of them sold within a week. I'm pretty sure even Revolution sold. Not a lot of BGG denizens, though, although there are a few, but they're mostly wargamers, which isn't what I'm looking for right at the moment. The trick is bringing these folks together. There are two potential "perfect spaces." One is Metagames, the aforementioned store. They have a huge playing area, with a snack bar, and they're open until midnight. The other option is Borders, which is open until not-so-late but has foot traffic and would probably welcome a group on an off-night. You can get a good bunch together, as Dallas Lumbersmiths and the STL Meetup demonstrate. Have to see if anything develops here...
I suppose proselytizing would be the next item on the agenda. 'Course, all of this is going to hinge on me becoming somewhat more outgoing than I am--channelling "Retail Me" on a more permanent basis.
Any Spfd gamers lurking? Wanna get a game of Amun-Re in sometime?
